Today we read a current event article about an anthropological study on modern hunter-gatherers called the Hadza. HW: Hadza Questions Tuesday/Wednesday Today we began our ancient Hebrew Unit. We began our Vocab Card 4 (Exodus, Ten Commandments, Diaspora, Judaism, Monotheism, Torah). Today we proofread and added to our writing plans for Tuesday/Wednesday's in class essay. HW - Cornell Notes pg. 14 in the Packet Tuesday/Wednesday Today we learned about the social structure and religion of Ancient Egypt. HW - Thursday/Friday is the last day for late credit on pages 5-12 and 14 in the Egypt and the last day for a stamp on pages 15-17. Today we used our annotated page, "An Advanced Society" to take notes on page 10 of our Mesopotamian Packet. HW: Mesopotamian Word Search Tuesday/Wednesday Today we corrected our notes on page 10, annotated a reading page on "The Invention of Writing using the following steps: 1. number the paragraphs 2. read the paper once and underline "unfamiliar" words 3. read a second time and circle content words that repeat 4. make a list of the words that repeat the most read a third time and highlight key details. (no more than 5 words in a row should be highlighted). HW: Cornell notes on page 11 of the Mesopotamia packet. Thursday/Friday Today we took notes on page 13 after annotating a text on Sumerian Art and Architecture. HW: Output page 12.
