Early Humans: Cave Painting
Congratulations, you have completed your work for the Early Humans unit. Thank you for working hard and staying on task. Look at the following presentations, one will show you examples of prehistoric art from the Stone Age and the other will give you examples of prehistoric animals that you can use as your painting subjects. After viewing both of the presentations follow the directions at the bottom to complete your very own cave painting

1. After looking through the slide show of prehistoric art. You are to create your own pictograph.
2. Look through the following slides and choose an animal to depict.
3. Remember that prehistoric pictographs did not include backgrounds.
4. Use oil pastels and the paper provided.
5. When completed try to rub it, crinkle it and make the paper appear as if it was done on a rough surface like a cave wall.
